Rashaida Bride & Groom by Carol Beckwith and Angela Fisher

Rashaida Bride & Groom

After a week of seclusion with her groom, the bride dons a burqa, the most elaborate veil she will ever wear. It is given to the bride on her wedding day by her mother, and is adorned with silver thread and pendants. The groom, also dressed traditionally, wears a cotton tunic, embroidered waistcoat and a turban.
